Umbrella Jelly, Eutonina indicans

I always thought this little jelly was a rather boring, ubiquitous one until I had the opportunity of seeing one with a lovely lilac/burgundy tone up close! Wow.  They are often found in large numbers, and I’ve actually seen the surface bubbling with them.  Seeing an individual close up has changed my perspective!  inaturalist offers a good description of these jellies, and  Tom Jackson offers a great illustration of this jelly’s lifecycle along with a great deal more information about the order Leptothecata to which this jelly belongs.
