Nudibranchs of the Salish Sea

This page provides links to pages about sea slugs who are “shell-less”: those species which are generally referred to as Dorids, Dironas, Triophas, Aeolids, Dendroids and Melibe.  I have purposely set species that are similar in shape, design and colour alongside one another, to make initial identification easier.  Should the viewer be looking for members of the Sea Hare families, Bubble Shells, Headshield Slugs or other more “primitive” sea slugs that generally carry shells, please check out this link. Please remember that this site is primarily devoted to those who are searching for sea life in the shallows (intertidal to seven metres subtidal max). I am a snorkeler and shallow free-diver.  Anyone diving at depths 25 ft and below will likely discover species that will remain forever elusive to those of us unable to dive.
